PEGI EYERS
What are Artist Trading Cards? They are miniature, original works of art created on card stock, heavy paper or other material. They can be paintings, photographs, original prints, collage, textile, mixed media, 3D assemblage, or other inventive media - as long as they measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches. ATC events are happening all over the world - bringing creative people together to exchange ideas as well as cards.
The accessible format, spontaneity and social aspects of Artist Trading Cards quickly becomes a passion for both the creator and collector! I have hosted events, organized events through galleries and arts organizations, attended events, and made trades through the mail. ATC events at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Latcham Gallery in Stouffville, Zephyr Gallery in Orillia, Art Gallery of Peterborough, Haliburton Arts Council, and the Agnes Jamieson Gallery in Minden have all been spectacular. Creating ATC's is a highly enjoyable process, and I now have a binder full of cards that I have received in trade! For events one is unable to attend, sending a set in the mail will guarantee that the same number are shipped back in return. Embroidered by hand on special papers from my extensive collection, and based on Pagan symbols and Goddess themes, I created a set of 9 ATC's for Goddess Craft's Winter Show in Toronto. >click on image to enlarge<
